This month saw the visit of two fantastic, innovative vehicles. Both Teslas came to Pure Valeting & Detail for our Gtechniq New Car Preparation and Protection Detail. This is one of our most common detailing services and there’s a good reason for it.

Both the Model S and the Model X received the following; full 3 bucket safe wash and 3 stage decontamination, tar and glue residue, iron deposits and clay bar treatment. The vehicle was then taken inside to be blown and towel dried. A full paintwork inspection is the carried out using a coating thickness tester and defect spotting lights, this can then inform us weather the vehicle has had any body repairs prior to delivery. A single stage machine polish is then carried out on the paintwork to fully cleanse and rid of any light surface defects in preparation for the protective coatings. If any of you have ever seen a Tesla’s paintwork before it’s been detailed then you will know how bad it really is, the clearcoat is super soft and great care has to be taken at all times, managing residue and constantly blowing out the polishing pads to avoid any contamination. Many areas of the vehicle needed much more attention than a single stage, there were various DA sanding marks, de-nibbing flat spots and factory induced buffer trails.

Three days were spent on both vehicles to ensure an immaculate condition before the coatings are applied. The protection came in the form of Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light, offering up to 5 years protection.

We are now taking bookings for September when the new 67 plate vehicles will be released.
